    • Set up direct deposit, totaling $10,000+ per month for 2+ consecutive months by November 23, 2026

The Fine Print

  • Limited-time offer.
  • To be eligible, recipients must not have owned a Commerce Bank checking account or received a previous checking bonus from us in the last 12 months prior to account opening. This offer cannot be combined with any other checking offers or promotions.
  • Only one offer per household.
  • To qualify: a) You must provide the promo code 1000DMD626 at the time of account opening; b) Your new Commerce Free, CommerceRelationship, or CommerceInterest checking account must be opened between June 12, 2026 and August 18, 2026; c) Account holder(s) must set up direct deposit and have a total of $10,000+ per month post to the account for two (2) consecutive months by November 23, 2026. Direct deposits must be a recurring, electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension, or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. Person to Person payments (such as Zelle®) are not considered direct deposits. Commerce Bank will determine whether all requirements for the bonus have been met as of November 23, 2026.
  • If you have completed all the above requirements and your account remains open, your bonus will be paid on or before December 21, 2026, by crediting your new Commerce personal checking account.

Monthly fees are waived for the first 60 days according to the terms.  Free checking also has no monthly fees to worry about. 

Early Account Termination Fee

According to this comment no early termination fee is charged.

Our Verdict

Obviously a bit of risk involved even without the targeted language, but I think for $1,000 it’s worth going for if you can meet the direct deposit requirements organically. Will add this to our best bank account bonuses.
