The Fine Print
- Receive a $250 bonus when you open a new BAM Checking account and meet all account qualifications for two (2) consecutive Monthly Qualification Cycles. Account must remain open, active, and in good standing during this period.
- Bonus may be reported for tax purposes.
- If account qualifications are met during each Monthly Qualification Cycle: (1) domestic ATM fees incurred during the cycle will be reimbursed and credited on the first business day of the next cycle (fees over $5.00 may require proof); (2) balances up to $15,000 earn 3.00% APY; and (3) balances over $15,000 earn 1.00% APY on the portion over $15,000.
- If qualifications are not met, all balances earn 0.02% APY. Balances up to $15,000 may earn between 3.00% and 1.39% APY depending on balance when qualifications are met.
- No minimum balance is required; however, a $50 minimum deposit is required to open the account.
- Qualifying transactions must post and settle during the Monthly Qualification Cycle. ATM transactions, transfers between accounts, and recurring autopayments do not qualify.
- Transactions may take one or more business days to post and settle.
- “Monthly Qualification Cycle” means the period from the first day through the last day of each calendar month.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Our Verdict
We did see a different offer from this bank last year for 14% APY On Balances Up To $15,000 for three months, that worked out to be $525 but you also had to lock up the $15,000. Still think that bonus was better for anybody that had the money.
